Samegrelo Chief Prosecutor to Run as UNM's Majoritarian MP Candidate in Zugdidi

Ruling party, United National Movement (UNM), has named chief prosecutor of Samegrelo region Roland Akhalaia as its majoritarian MP candidate for Zugdidi single-mandate constituency.

Roland Akhalaia is father of Interior Minister Bacho Akhalaia and his other son, Data Akhalaia, is Deputy Defense Minister.

Roland Akhalaia’s rival from Bidzina Ivanishvili-led Georgian Dream opposition coalition in Zugdidi single-mandate constituency will be Irakli Alasania, leader of Our Georgia-Free Democrats party.
