Inflation Up to 9.8% in Sept

Inflation rate rose to 9.8% year-on-year in September, Georgian statistics office and central bank said on October 5.

Annual inflation was 7% in July and hitting a 24-month high of 9.5% by the end of August.

National Bank of Georgia (NBG) increased its main interest rate from 6.5% to 7% on September 15 in an attempt to keep inflation under control.
