22 Dec. '07 |   CEC Chairman meets Acting President

The Chairman of the Central Election Commission met Acting President of Georgia Nino Burjanadze to discuss preparations for the upcoming Extraordinary Elections of the President of Georgia.   Acting President Burjanadze endorsed CEC’s initiative to publish special booklets detailing conduct rules, as well as rights and responsibilities for public servants and political authorities during the pre-election period.  The booklets will be distributed to the appropriate public sector as well as civil society groups.    Acting President Burjanadze stated that the government will respond severely to all cases of violations of Georgian legislation.
