Saakashvili Slams Customs Chief

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili criticized on October 8 Giorgi Godabrelidze, the Chairman of the Customs Department and warned that he may dismiss customs chief if the latter fails to improve situation in the Customs Department in a month.
 
“If the state budget does not receive 15-20 million Lari from the customs within month, Giorgi Godabrelidze will be sacked. We do not need the chief, who fails to eradicate corruption in the customs,” Mikheil Saakashvili said at a cabinet session on October 8.
