NDI to Make Public its Commissioned Poll on Party Ratings
Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 15 Jul.'12 / 18:15

In an unusual move, the National Democratic Institute (NDI) decided to make public part of its commissioned opinion survey, which covers rating of political parties.

The presentation will take place at 10:30am local time on Monday.

Political party ratings are part of NDI-commissioned broader poll, fielded by the Caucasus Resource Research Centers (CRRC) in June. Part of the polls, covering public attitudes towards broad range of current and policy issues was presented on July 10.

Until now, it has always been the NDI’s policy not to make political ratings public, instead presenting that segment of polls privately to the political parties. Those rating, however, were then usually leaked to the press by some political parties; leaked polls were often fragmented and inconclusive.

“On Monday, July 16, the National Democratic Institute (NDI) will brief media on the results of its June 2012 survey regarding ‘Public Attitudes in Georgia’… The briefing will cover political party ratings,” NDI Tbilisi office said in a press release on Sunday.
