Ivanishvili Warns Police Against 'Fulfilling Illegal Orders'
Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 5 Mar.'12 / 15:19

Bidzina Ivanishvili, leader of opposition Georgian Dream coalition, said on March 5, that Soso Kimeridze, who died in Khashuri police station, “is yet another victim of Saakashvili’s violent ideology.”

He said that a week after the Kimeridze’s death “not only any of the police officer has been arrested, none have even been dismissed.” He said that the Interior Ministry should have at least suspended chief of Khashuri police, pending investigation.

“I want to call on the police employees to refrain from fulfilling illegal orders… They should not have an illusion that it will last for a long time and Saakashvili will be able to protect them forever. This violent system will crumble very soon and everyone, who carries out illegal acts and follows illegal orders, will be held responsible. I promise it will happen very soon; little time is left – some seven months [before the parliamentary elections],” Ivanishvili said.

“By following illegal orders you become a victim of a criminal system and I promise you that each of you will be held responsible before the law very strictly and it will happen very soon,” he said.
