Tskhinvali Releases Five Georgians

Authorities in breakaway South Ossetian have released five residents of the Kareli district, who were detrained by Russian border guards for “violation of the border.”

According to the information posted on the website of breakaway region’s authorities, on October 29 the court in Tskhinvali made a “humane” decision “to expel” five Georgians from the breakaway region’s territory.

Meanwhile, 16 Georgians, residents of the Dusheti district, who were detained by Russian border guards on October 25, still remain held in the breakaway region.
