Bryan Adams will perform on Friday evening in Tbilisi at a free, so-called Peace, Freedom and Democracy for Georgia concert.

The concert is sponsored by a Georgian-based mining enterprise, Madneuli, which was bought by the Russian Industrial Investors Group’s (Promyshlennye Investory) daughter company in 2005.

President Saakashvili, who met the Canadian singer on September 19, said the fact that “such a great star” was performing in Tbilisi and was willing to donate “to build a school for the victims in Gori” was an expression of “a broader solidarity” towards Georgia in the world.

“It means that we have broader solidarity among wider circles rather than just among politicians,” Saakashvili told journalists.
