Residents of Abkhazia who hold Russian passports should have a chance to participate in the Russia’s parliamentary elections in December, Sergey Bagapsh, leader of breakaway Abkhazia, said on November 22.

Abkhaz news agency Apsnipress reported that Bagapsh met with his cabinet members to discuss “issues related with organization of elections” on the territory of Abkhazia.

Similar preparations are also underway in breakaway South Ossetia, which has already triggered a protest of Tbilisi.
